LOCATION: ATELIER BY STYLISTS AT NORTH IN OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA

Fuerza is the first collection I’ve designed for Stylists At North. Who could have foreseen that on our five-year anniversary, I would be designing, styling, and art directing a shoot during a global health pandemic? That being said, Fuerza came from all the insights my heart gained during this global pause.

The meaning of fuerza is “strength” – the driving force that built this collection. As a global community, we have shared so much these last few months dealing with this heavy experience. It’s been very humbling to me.

On a personal level, this has been a year of absolute discomfort and grief. Just when I began accepting a deep loss, a global health pandemic stripped away our norms. Our entire world was silenced and shut down.

I gradually saw within the darkness, that there were still many streaks of light. Within all the chaos, I found calmness. I didn’t need despair to define me or disempower me, I could shape my experience as my own. I realized the grief was in fact a gift that allowed me to cultivate strength.

I’m very proud of this collection for so many reasons. I hope it sparks courage and strength within you. May it compel you to explore your creative heart and discover the many facets of what you bring to the world.

Happy anniversary, my Stylists at North beauties! I’m deeply grateful for this supportive community, may we spend many more years celebrating, exploring, creating, connecting, and sharing. This collection is dedicated to the amazing man I’m blessed to call Papa – my beautiful father who truly defined the word “strength.”
